The reason this restaurant did not make our Restaurant Recommendations list is not because of service or food quality. Though the menu is varied, the $50 per person Chef's Speciality just might not be what many visitors to the Little Rock area are seeking.

Certainly you can dine here on a frugal budget -- if you can get in. Friday and Saturday nights virtually require reservations or an hour or so wait. But -- if you're looking for upscale Italian -- this is the place.

Moderately priced big portions make this a good stop for any visitor to the metropolitan area.

Located alongside Hwy 67/167 near McCain Mall, persons coming from south of McCain Mall should no longer take the McCain exit. Drive toward Jacksonville in the left lane, exit left at the loop and enjoy the ease of one-way traffic back to Carino's.

Simply call it a chain restaurant that doesn't feel like a chain. The food is consistently good; the service is consistently good, and they have decent wine choices.
