You and I need help keeping up with the fast-moving world. Companies change overnight. So does the real estate market, the automobile market, the credit card industry and...well, gas prices!

Computers, computer programs and computer technology seem to change even faster than gas prices. Fortunately, those prices continue to drop. That old saying -- The more things change, the more they stay the same -- no longer applies in the 21^st Century.

Most Arkansans fall in the middle class financial category and know full well that they suffer from high gas prices, high food prices and low wages. Being in the middle class does not mean you cannot exercise some of the same strategies used by others to improve your financial situation and lifestyle.

Parenting in the 21^st Century also has its new problems. Never before have so many young people been quite adept at using computers and other communication devices. As parents, we must learn more about modern technology to provide needed protection and guidance for our children.

Passing laws will not do it. Parents must learn about computers and how to block out the bad while allowing in the good.
